Ingredients

Serves 4 servings
  1. 1 1/2 cupsoats (about 135 grams)
  2. 1/2 cupgreen peas (about 75 grams)
  3. 1/2 cupsweet corn (about 75 grams)
  4. 1small onion, finely chopped
  5. 1small tomato, finely chopped
  6. 1green chili, finely chopped
  7. 1/2 cuptomato sauce (about 120 ml)
  8. Salt, to taste
  9. 1/4 teaspoonturmeric powder
  10. 1 teaspoongaram masala
  11. 1/2 teaspoonred chili powder
  12. 1/2 teaspoonblack mustard seeds
  13. 1/2 teaspooncumin seeds
  14. 1 teaspoonoil
  15. Juice of 1 lemon

Steps

  1. 1

    Heat oil in a deep skillet or pan. Add cumin seeds and mustard seeds, and let them splutter. Add green chili and onion, and sauté until the onion is soft.

    Add the chopped tomato and cook until it softens.

  3. 3

    Add green peas and sweet corn. Then add salt, oats, and all the spices. Mix well.

    Reduce the heat to low. Add water as needed and pour in the tomato sauce. Mix everything together.

    Cook, stirring, until the mixture thickens. Add lemon juice, mix well, and serve hot.
