What took me so long? I've been trying to get something new in mind, what type of bread to bake, something unique, something different, so I managed to come up with this "flower bread". Even though it's not a perfect flower but am happy I did this, I bet it'll get better with another trial.

Heat butter in a pan, turn off the heat, add milk and mix until thoroughly dissolved.

In another bowl, mix flour, yeast, sugar and salt.

Add in the milk mixture, break in the egg and mix well, the dough will be very sticky, knead the dough until it makes a smooth round ball.

Cover the dough and let it rise for an hour until it doubles it size.

Deflate and knead by hand for 1-2 minutes and cover again, fold the dough for a another minute. Sprinkle some flour on cutting board, transfer the dough into the dusted cutting board.

Roll out a portion into a long string and flatten the top with the thumb and arrange on a greased and flour dusted baking tray.

Cut the edge edges of the string carefully with a knife.

Arrange the strings adjacent to one another and pile up the remaining strings to form a bunch of flower.

Place 3 flattened strings on the board and braid them.

Place the braid horizintally on the bunch of flower to form a ribbon holding the flower.

Decorate with raisins, brush with egg using a pastry brush. Preheat oven to 180°C. Bake at 180°C for 30 minutes or until golden brown.

Remove from oven, let it cool for 5 minutes before eating.
