Snack masti with health of steamed lentils and taste of chatpata filling.

Soak chana dal for 4 hours.

Drain and grind coarsely without water.

Add chopped methi leaves, ginger paste, chopped green chilies, salt, red chilli powder and carrom seeds. Mix well.

Dal should be thick paste, if it is some how watery add 1-2 tbsp samolina.

Take small muffin moulds. Grease them and line them with prepared dal mixture. Idli moulds can also be used. Just spread the mixture in shape of a katori or basket.

Steam these moulds for 10-12 minutes.

Cool and demould.

Fill these steamed baskets with masala corns/tangy sprout salad /Chatpata matar paneer salad etc.. Serve.

If you like crisp baskets then after steaming these baskets can be deep fried or even air fried.
