Cooking Instructions
- 1
Whisk well egg, butter and sugar. Sift the flour, baking powder and baking soda and mix well.
- 2
Knead until you get a soft dough. Cover it with the wrapping sheet and refrigerate it for 30mins.
- 3
Remove the seed and clean the dates. Heat the pan with ghee and add chopped dates. Mash well and add brown sugar and sauté until it’s become soft and smoothy. Transfer to another plate and cool down.
- 4
After 30mins roll the dough as thin sheet and cut it in rectangle shape.
- 5
Knead the dates paste and roll into strips. Place it on the rolled sheet and fold the sheet over the dates. Slightly roll the dough in hand to close the edges fully.
- 6
Sprinkle some sesame seed and rolled over it. Chop the rolled strip in to one inch pieces.
- 7
Bake it in pre-heated oven at 180d for 15-17mins. After 10mins turn the cookies and bake. Yummy and delicious date cookies is ready. Happy backing 😊

My grandson loves to cook with me and also loves playing with his play dough. I wanted a cookie like his play dough so he could enjoy it with me. The first time we did this he placed the cookies on the cookie sheet and said "easy peasy!" For a 3 year old it was a hit. 1953kenny -
