Turkish Pide- Turkish Pizza

Step 1 – Preparing the dough
In a kitchen mixer (hand kneading works too) add flour, yeast, sugar and salt. Mix well. Then make a well in the mix and add room temp. water. I find water quantity always has to be adjusted. It depends on the flour. I added 1 cup water initially but it needed a little bit more water (3 tbsp). Mix it for 7-8 mins. The dough should be soft and slightly sticky. Rest it for 45mins- 1hr (till size is doubled). - 2
Step 2 – Making the pide
Once dough has doubled in size, using a lightly floured surface, roll it into a baguette shape. Cut it into similar portions. I got 5 portions with this measurement. You can adjust the size of the Pide’s to your liking. Roll it into a rectangular’ish shape. Layer it with cheese, ground beef, cheese. Fold the two sides, fold the two ends on top of each other and press so that it sticks. It will look like a boat. For the other Pide layer it cheese, salami, cheese and sumac - 3
On top and then fold like the first one.

Step 3 – Baking
Bake the Pide’s in pre heated oven at 400C for 18-20 mins (till its golden). I brushed it some melted garlic herb butter which I had on hand before serving. You can use melted butter too. Enjoy!!
