Steps

Wash and soak broken wheat and Dal together for 30 minutes

Heat ghee in a pressure cooker add garlic saute till turns fragrant,saute onion till it turns translucent
- 3
Add tomato, salt, turmeric,cook till it turns soft and mushy, now add chilli powder,garam masala, kasuri methi, dried mango powder and saute for a minute

Drain water completely from Dalia,then add to the cooker and mix well

Pour water, check salt cook on a medium to low flame for 2 whistle

Stir well when the pressure goes off

Heat ghee in a tadka pan add cumin seeds when it crackle add asafoetida and dried chilli and switch of the flame,add chilli powder, mix well, pour the tadka over khichadi

Dalia Khichdi is ready it serve hot
