Ingredients

50 min
5 servings
  • 1 cupRava / semolina
  • 1 cupDahi / curd
  • 1/2 tbspSalt
  • 1/4 tbspSugar
  • For orange paste :
  • PinchOrange food colour
  • 1 eachTomato + carrot
  • For Green paste :
  • HandfulCoriander leaves
  • HandfulMint leaves
  • 1Green chillies
  • 1/4 tbspSalt -
  • PinchGreen food colour
  • For Tadka :
  • 1 tbspOil
  • 1/2 tspMustard seeds
  • 1/2 tspCumin seeds
  • 3 tbspWater
  • 1Lemon juice
  • Other Ingredients :
  • As requiredWater
  • 1/2 tspEno - for each batter
  • As requiredRaw grated coconut - for garnishing
  • As requiredChopped coriander leaves - for garnishing

    In bowl add semolina, curd, salt and sugar. Mix well close lid keep aside for 30 min.

  2. 2

    Add Chopped carrot and tomato grind and make fine paste. 

  3. 3

    For green chutney or paste add coriander leaves, mint leaves, green chilli and salt add 2 tbsp of water grind well make fine paste.

  4. 4

    Divide the dhokla batter in 3 equal parts.Add orange paste and green chutney in 2 parts add water in other part. (If you want you can add pinch off orange food colour in orange batter and green food colour in green batter) mix very well all three parts.

  5. 5

    In cooker add 1 glass of water keep plate in it. on the gas flame boil it. Grease the mould with some oil.
    Add green batter in it. when water is start boiling in cooker add the Eno in green batter mix well.

  6. 6

    Keep mould in cooker. remove the whistle and vicer from cooker lid close the lid cook for 15 min.  
    Check it if dhokla is done remove it from cooker keep it cool for 5 min then remove the dhokla from mould. Make white then orange dhokla from same method. 

  7. 7

    For tadka in small pan or kadai add oil heat it. When oil is heating add muster seed and cumin seed in it. When it start crackling add water in it also add juice of 1 lemon boiled it for 2 min then close lid.
    On top of dhokla spread tadka garnish with grated raw coconut and coriander leaves. Dhokla is ready to eat.
