Ingredients

15 minutes
4 servings
  1. 1 cupbasmati rice
  2. 2 cupswater & extra for soaking
  3. 1 tbspghee
  4. 1 inchcinnamon stick
  5. 1 tspcumin seeds
  6. 1 finely chopped green chilli
  7. to tasteSalt
  8. 1bay leaf

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the rice for half an hour. Drain and set aside.

  2. 2

    Heat ghee in a pot. Add the spices and cumin seeds to it. When the cumin seeds splutter add the green chilli and drained rice. Saute the rice for a few minutes.

    Add 2 cups water and salt to the rice and mix. Bring the rice to a quick boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook till the water has evaporated.
