Ingredients

35 minutes
10 thepla
  • 1/4 cupbarley flour
  • 1/4 cupjowar flour
  • 1/4 cupfreshly ground oats flour
  • 1/4 cupmaize flour
  • 1/4 cuppearl millet flour
  • 1/2 cupwhole wheat flour
  • 1 tsproasted cumin powder
  • 2 tspginger-green chilli paste
  • 1 cupgrated bottle gourd
  • 1/2 cupfenugreek leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tbspghee
  • as neededOil for roasting theplas
  • 1 tbspthick yoghurt or as required
  • 2 tspjaggery powder
  • to tasteSalt

Steps

35 minutes
  1. 1

    Take flours in a big bowl, add cumin powder, salt and jaggery powder. Mix well. I recommend adding jaggery or little sugar to cut down the slight bitterness of flours.

    Add grated bottle gourd after squeezing out the water well

  3. 3

    Add chopped fenugreek leaves, ginger chilli paste, melted ghee. Combine everything well.

  4. 4

    Add thick yoghurt to knead the firm dough.

  5. 5

    Let the dough rest for 15-20 minutes. After resting time, the dough will become softer.

  6. 6

    Roll thepla as thin as you can, roast them on a medium-hot skillet using oil.

  7. 7

    Can be enjoyed with milk, tea, coffee, along with food or as it is!
