Cornflour halwa comonly known as Karachi halwa.A silky soft delicacy which is fun to hold & jggles to eat.few basic kitchen ingredients turns into a classy dessert that holds up like jelly & melts in mouth.

Dissolve 1 cup cornflour with water.mix well.the consistency is quite thick, then add remaining water slowly while mixing continuly. A smooth batter will form without lumps.if little water left out of 250 ml then it's no issue.the texture should be smooth.

A smooth well textured cornflour batter is made.add yellow food colour in batter & mix well. The colour might seem light in better but when it cooks it will become dark.

Take 1 cup sugar & 2 cup water in a pot.bring to boil, add lemon juice in it.lower the heat & let syrup simmer on low heat.do not need 1 or 2 taar sheera.

Heat 2 Tbsp ghee in a pan. Add cornflour batter in pan on low heat & stir continuously or it will form a lump.add sugar syrup in pan and mix well.

Stir spoon continuly in batter.at first some lumps might form in pan but with continue stirring the lumps will go away.it will take some time & effort as well. Keep the flame low-medium until all batter is combine smoothly in pan. Add 1 Tbsp of ghee more if needed.

Chop mix nuts & keep together with chaar maghaz.when batter is smooth add cardamom powder & mix nuts in pan and mix well.

Halwa is now getting shape & combine together.it should have a glossy look & shine on it's surface.gradually it will leave sides of pan & not stick to pan surface.the nuts are all mixed up inside.

Grease a platter or bowl in which halwa is to be taken out.one or two & deep or shallow as prefered.pour the halwa in bowl.make it smooth.let it cool at room temperature.

Sprinkle some more nuts to garnish. When cooled down.cut the halwa in squares or cubes as needed with the help of sharp knife.Enjoy soft, yummy cornflour ka halwa with Cookpad.
