Ingredients

4 servings
  • For batter
  • 1 cupBengal gram flour or chickpeas flour
  • 2 tablespoonssemolina
  • 1 teaspoonlemon juice
  • 3 tablespoonsrefined oil
  • 3 teaspoonssugar
  • 1 teaspoonsalt
  • 1/2 teaspoonginger paste
  • 1green chilli paste
  • 1/8 teaspoonturmeric powder
  • 1 cupwater
  • 1.5 tsp Eno fruits salt
  • For tempering
  • 1 tablespoonrefined oil
  • 1 teaspoonmustard seeds
  • 1 pinchasafoetida
  • Few green chillies
  • For layering and garnishing
  • 1/4 cupgreen coriander chutney
  • 1/4 cupmango powder chutney
  • 1 tablespoonchopped coriander

Steps

  1. 1

    Mix all ingredients of batter, except ENO and make batter

    Grease a bowl for steaming & add water in steamer and boil it.

  3. 3

    Now add ENO in batter and add little water over it & mix well. When batter rises transfer it into greased bowl and steam for 15 minutes.

    Heat oil in a pan for tampering, add asafoetida and mustard seeds. When mustard seeds crackle add green chilies and 1/4 cup water. Now pour tampering on the steamed Khaman.

    When cool divide into 8 pieces. Make three layers of each piece and apply green chutney on one layer and red on other and make sandwich. Garnish with chopped green coriander and enjoy on picnic....
