Ingredients

  1. 1 tbspFenugreek seeds
  2. 7 tbspGingely Oil
  3. Halftbsp salt
  4. 10-12Big sized amla
  5. 1/2 tbspMustard seeds
  6. 1 1/2 tbspChilli powder
  7. 1/2 tbspAsafoetida

Cooking Instructions

    Take the amla, add some salt, turmeric powder and cook it in a vessel of boiling water for 2 mins, until it is half done. Once it cools, remove the seeds and separate it into pieces as shown.

    In a pan add Fenugreek and fry until golden brown and grind it to a fine powder

    In a kadai add oil,mustard seeds and let it crackle

  4. 4

    Now add the asafoetida

  5. 5

    Add cooked amla and saute it. Add salt and red chilli powder

  6. 6

    Saute until the water from cooked amla completely evapourates
    (Do this step carefully, if any water remains, then the pickle will get spoiled easily)

    Now add the ground fenugreek powder
    (This is added to cool your body as you eat such a spicy pickle)

    Saute until u get a well blended mixture like this

    The pickle is ready and have it with hot plain rice or curd rice especially during rainy season

  10. 10

    Note: Measurements are important for this dish
