Break the dried red chilies in half and remove all the seeds. Heat a little water and soak the chilies for 5 minutes.

Blend the soaked chilies into a paste using a blender or food processor.

Heat oil in a pan. Add the ginger and garlic paste and sauté. Add the red chili paste, salt, Chinese five-spice powder, soy sauce, sugar, lemon juice, and water. Mix well.

Simmer the chutney on low heat for 10 to 15 minutes. Your Schezwan chutney is ready.
