Karnataka is a state with different regions and that's why the culinary traditions differs in each regions.
The staple food contains of Jowar and wheat rotis along with different spicy curries and the south Karnataka cuisine is dominated by steamed rice and ragi ( finger millet ) . Similarly Udipi Cuisine is also popular as well.
Kuzi Paniyaram, Paddu or Appes ( Appam ) is a dish from southern states of India - Karnataka , Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh Telngana.
Paniyaram a soft ,puffy rice buns are made from rice and black lentil batter and it's prepared in a pan with several round cavities called Paniyaram Pan or Aebleskiver Pan or Appam Patra as shown in pictures.

Add all ingredients in dosa batter, mix well.

Grease and heat Appam Patra and fill it with prepared batter. Add few drops of oil. Cover the pan and let it cool.

Once it is cooked from one side, flip all paniyarams and cover again and let it cool from other side, add few drops of oil needed.

Serve hot with chutney.
