Ini Yinko fufuru (Fresh fish soup)

This is my favorite soup. You don't get to have it often so whenever I need to supplement this, I go for Egusi soup.
For sometimes I didn't get to eat this and my candy crush game keep giving fish as booster 😂. So I felt the need to apeaase the gods of my fish appetite. My pocket was telling me to eat noodles instead but when I told BAE, he came through with a cute cat fish 💃

Ini Yinko fufuru (Fresh fish soup)

Blend pepper, tatashe and onions. Wash fish with warm water and salt then set aside.

Pour little quantity of palm oil into the pot on fire and pour in your blended ingredients. Add salt, seasoning, locust beans and fry for few minutes. Add the washed fish and pour enough water above the fish level.

Cover it and allow it to boil for about 15-20mins so the fish can get cooked. When it's done, it is expected to be a bit watery. It can actually be served like that but I added thickener to mine. Get a small eating plate, pour in little cassava flour, mix with water and pour into the soup to thicken it.

Stir lightly so the fish doesn't brittle. Allow it to boil for a minute and serve. Ini yinko fufuru is best served with ije rogo (cassava meal) or ije itchi (pounded yam). I had mine with ije rogo. Bon Appétit ♥
