First 6-Month Baby Food: Meat Porridge Using a Slow Cooker Day 1
Finally, my child Farrel has started eating strained porridge. I hope he stays healthy always 😍
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Wash and cut all ingredients. I usually prepare the ingredients in advance, so I just take them out each morning without the hassle of cutting again. Store them in a container and put them in the fridge.
- 2
Place all the ingredients into the slow cooker, add broth and water until all ingredients are submerged. Set for 2 hours, stirring occasionally.
- 3
Once cooked, remove the aromatic seasoning (shallot and garlic). Do not strain them. Strain the rest using a wire strainer or blend in a baby-safe blender. Divide into 3 portions.
- 4
When ready to serve, add extra virgin olive oil, cheese cube, and unsalted butter. Adjust the consistency using breast milk or formula. Don't forget to say a little prayer before eating 😍

My wife and I finally came up with this recipe. We love it and wanted to share it. Hopefully, you will too!Enjoy! J.A.B. -
For Baby Food - Allergen-Free Steamed Bread For Baby Food - Allergen-Free Steamed Bread
I found out that my child has allergies. My child doesn't like rice porridge, couldn't drink milk or soy milk and I didn't want him to suffer from a calcium deficiency... So I tried a few things and this was what my child ate a lot of. My child ate a whole bread when he was just 9 months old. 1 bread contains about 50mg of calcium.I could even make it by pouring the batter directly into the plastic container. In this case, the bottom part had some raw parts and might gather some water. So, I heat it for 1 minute first. Then flipped the container upside down and heated for another 30 seconds, then it became fine.It will be better and will taste sweeter if the banana is ripe. For 2 cupcake liners worth. McHugh's Slow Cooker Irish Coddle McHugh's Slow Cooker Irish Coddle
Every year for St. Patrick's Day, my wife and I will make an Irish dish or two. It usually ends up being different variations of Shepard's Pie, Bangers & Mash, and Corned Beef & Cabbage. I was always curious about making Coddle, but it seemed daunting. The family recipe that I had seemed like a lot of work, which deterred me. Over the past few months, I became curious about making the Coddle in the slow cooker. Finally, I decided to try it!What's not to love in a Coddle? It has Irish bacon & sausages, potatoes, carrots(at least in my family), and the optional onion. With a little bit of parsley and pepper, this is such a tasty treat. It will definitely be made again, and again, and again. This recipe calls for 4 to 5 cups of water. That all depends on what you want. If you want it to be more stew-like, then only use 4 cups. If you want it to be more soupy, then add 5 cups. It is totally up to you. This is the perfect dish for St. Patrick's Day or any day of the week. I hope that you like it as much as we do. #mycookbookEnjoy! J.A.B. -

Slow Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce Slow Cooker Italian Tomato Sauce
Every now and then, I love to make tomato sauce. Not to brag, but I do make a good sauce. To everyone, except my son. My dad would get bread to dip into the pot that I used to make my sauce. My son? He would say, "Mmmmm! Delicious!" That was it, he would not want any more of it.I took the chance to make my sauce in the slow cooker and boy did it pay off. Even my son loved it. That was it for me. I am sold on making my sauce in the slow cooker. He could not get enough of it and that convinced me to keep making it in the slow cooker. For the sauce, you can use any can of sauce that you wish to use. Whether it be crushed, whole tomato, pureed, sauce, it all works in this recipe. For this recipe, I used tomato puree and sauce. I usually use crushed tomatoes and sauce, but I thought that I would keep the pieces of tomato to a minimum for my son. Pure Genius! We cooked it for 8 hours and it was perfect, but you can cook it for 6 hours instead. Either way, at the halfway point, stir the sauce, put the lid back on the pot, and cook for the remaining time. You can also use fresh herbs & spices and cloves of garlic. It will really give this recipe a nice flavor punch. I hope that you like this sauce as much as my family & friends do.Enjoy! J.A.B. -
Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs Slow Cooker Barbecued Ribs
Every summer when I was home during college and then my early 20s, I would make ribs at least once a summer. It was a summer staple in my house. But the heat from the oven, combined with the summer heat & humidity, made it unbearable in my house.Time passes and I stop making the ribs during the summer, leaving it for the cooler months. Even after I got a place with an AC, I did not dare to make ribs during the summer.Fast forward to a year ago when we bought our slow cooker. A long time friend suggested that I should try to make my ribs in the slow cooker. It took me almost a year, but I finally tried it.I checked out a few recipes, but they all said to broil them for a few minutes after they were done in the slow cooker. We may have a good AC now, but I refuse to put the oven on ever during the summer. Taking the chance, I did not put them .in the slow cooker. Trust me when I say this, the ribs do not need to be put into the oven. They are fall off the bone delicious.Serve with sauteed/steamed/grilled vegetables, potato/macaroni salad, corn, corn bread, macaroni & cheese, etc.Enjoy! J.A.B.
