Gajar ka halwa

My siblings and I grew up in Karachi, eating meals made by our grandfather, because my mother passed out really early. Because my grandfather used to cook daily, he made many dishes. One of them is Gajar ka Halwa, he made this in multiple batches every Eid. He got the recipe from a family member, or at least that’s what he remembers. My father tweaked it over the years using malai stored for so many months, then he wrote it down. I used to help him bake on Eid, and when I came home from college one year, I borrowed the recipe card just long enough to make a Xerox copy of it. Over the years, whenever my family members or friends ask me to make dinner, my grandfather's gajar ka halwa is always the favorite. They seem to be highly addictive; 2020 was the year i made this halwa so many times, cause they love this halwa!
