Dahi Puri

Dahi Puri is a famous street food from Mumbai, enjoyed as a flavorful and tangy chaat. This dish combines yogurt and chutneys for a delicious and exciting snack. I’ve used a filling of boondi and potatoes, but you can also use moong beans, moth beans, or ragda as alternatives.

Steps
- 1
First, whisk 1 cup yogurt until smooth. Chop the boiled potatoes and mix with boondi. For variety, you can also add boiled black chickpeas or sprouted moong beans.
- 2
Gather all the ingredients. Finely chop the onion. Arrange the puris (prepared earlier; see my pani puri recipe for details) on a plate.
- 3
Make a small hole in each puri and fill with the potato and boondi mixture. Then, add green chutney to each puri.
- 4
Add garlic chutney (optional) and chopped onion to the puris, then drizzle with sweet tamarind chutney.
- 5
Pour yogurt generously over all the puris, then top with sev, chopped cilantro, red chili powder, chaat masala, and salt.
- 6
Your dahi puri is ready! Serve immediately so the puris stay crisp.
