Bael's tree has a huge religious significance in Hindu scriptures. Considered as the favorite tree of Lord Maha Shiva, this fruit is a special mention of the god of wonder. In worshiping Lord Shiva, the bilva leaves form a major part of the fruits.
Bael fruits are a power punch for various nutrients such as beta-carotene, protein, riboflavin and vitamin C. It is packed with vitamins B1 and B2, thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, carotene and contains good amounts of calcium, potassium, fiber and minerals.

Ingredients

  • 1large size bael fruit(wood apple)
  • 3-4 spoonssugar/ honey
  • 1 spoonroasted cumin powder
  • 1/2 spoonblack pepper powder
  • 1/2 spoonblack salt

Steps

  1. 1

    First take the bael fruit and with a rolling pin (belan) hit all around. Open the hard shell. With a spoon scoop out the soft pulp. Add the scooped soft pulp in a bowl. Soak this mixture for 20 minutes.

    After 20 minutes, with a veggie masher, mash the pulp. Mash very well.Then using a strainer, strain the mashed mixture in parts. Also overall add about 1/2 cup water while straining. With a spoon stir so that the mixture is strained well.

    Once the mixture is strained, then add sugar/honey. Add roasted cumin powder, black pepper powder and black salt. Mix well. Now put them in refrigerator for chilled. Then pour in glasses and serve bael juice.
