AREPAS are flat, round,savory,unlevened corn patties or cakes popular throughout South America. Crisp from outside and soft from inside these arepas are made with a special dried corn/maize flour called Masa harina.

Cooking Instructions

Place all the ingredients for arepas in a bowl and knead a dough with warm water or milk. Keep aside.

Make balls with the dough and flatten them into small cakes.

Heat a griddle and cook arepas in oil until they turn golden brown and crisp.

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan and fry vegetables in it till they get cooked. Add salt and black pepper powder. Mix well.

Now comes assembling. Place arepas on a plate, spread sour cream over them and place vegetable topping over them. Drizzle chilli oil over them, garnish with mint leaves and serve hot.
