Steps

  1. 1

Soak moong dal and rice separately for 4hrs

  2. 2

After 4 hours drain them and dry them separately for 1day on cotton cloth.

  3. 3

After that dry roast them separately till they turn crunchy

  4. 4

Cool them and grind them into fine powder. Your khichdi premix is ready to make. You can store it in airtight container for 2 months

  5. 5

Now let's prepare khichdi. Heat ghee, add 2 tablespoon of khichdi premix and roast for 5-10 secs. Add water, salt and black pepper. Keep stirring till it thickens. It will take 2-3mins. Adjust the consistency as per your toddlers' requirement

  6. 6

Your khichdi is ready to serve. As this premix is soaked and roasted there is no raw fragrance or taste in it and it's very healthy.

  7. 7

You can even add curd if your child loves it.
