While you’re stuck in quarantine, use that time to get creative in the kitchen with what ingredients you have on hand. I made these fun looking meringues with pops of color for my family who loved them! They are sweet, fun-looking, and so airy they will melt in your mouth!
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preheat oven to 110 degrees Celsius (230 degrees Fahrenheit)
- 2
Whip the eggs whites on low-speed with a hand mixer until it becomes foamy. Add in salt and switch to high speed.
- 3
Gradually pour in the sugar and keep whipping it until stiff peaks have formed. You want to whip it longer than you think. You should have the confidence to flip the bowl upside down without it falling out, this is when you know it’s done. Once you’ve reached this point, add in the extracts and blend it in.
- 4
Take out a large piping bag (or a large ziplock bag) and prop it inside a tall drinking glass. Using a long skewer, dip the tip into your choice of gel food coloring and paint 2 long strips on opposite sides of the bag.
- 5
Fill the bag with the meringue mixture as much as possible without it overflowing.
- 6
Gently set the tip of the piping bag on a parchment paper lined tray and begin swirling. Try to make them all the same size or close to it to ensure that all of them will cook evenly. Get creative with colors and have some fun while stuck inside.
- 7
Bake for 90-95 minutes. I know it’s a long time but trust me, it’s well worth the wait.
- 8
Remove from oven and let them cool for 10 minutes. While it’s cooking make the buttercream frosting.
- 9
To make the frosting, begin with creamy the butter. Then, add in the powdered sugar followed by: milk and vanilla extract. Pour into a piping bag and gently squeeze the frosting on the middle of a meringue then gently press another meringue on top; making a meringue sandwich.
- 10
Easy to make, hassle free, and super good!

Meringue Cookies Meringue Cookies
These cookies are unique and subtly sweet. They have a crisp exterior, but a softer and delicate center. I think they taste better the day after they're baked. Be sure not to overbeat the egg whites...stop at stiff peaks. For the cookies pictured we skipped the sprinkles and used 2 drops of red gel food coloring. A good holiday cookie. I use mint for Christmas, cinnamon for fall, lemon for spring, and so on,slightly addictive, if you make a set make two best in stand mixers, but can be done with hand mixers.Cody Prine

I came up with this because I was thinking that it would be nice if there was a slightly caloric dessert I could eat with Blendy Plus (a sugar-free coffee drink). If the tart seems like it will burn while it's baking in the oven, please cover it with aluminium foil. Please adjust the cooking time and oven temperature to suit your oven.Using other seasonal fruits, such as grapes or peaches, is delicious too. Please feel free to use the excess tart dough to make cookies. For one 18 cm [7.1 in] diameter tart. Recipe by Renbasu cookpad.japan -

Almond and Cinnamon Meringue Cookies Almond and Cinnamon Meringue Cookies
I needed to use up leftover egg whites. I also had lots of almonds on hand. They look tastier fluffed up, so don't be too sparing when spooning them onto a baking tray. These will become stale quickly, so when storing, be sure to use desiccant packets to keep out the moisture. As long as you take that extra measure, they should last a while. Recipe by nyonta cookpad.japan
