Daal Gosht

A very famous and a delectable preparation with Bengal Gram or Chana Daal and meat. It is a perfect side dish for Lunch and is a lovely accompaniment to Phulkas, Chapatis and Rotis as well. Though it's a dry one, it goes well with plain boiled Rice alongside Dal, Rasam, Kadhi etc. It's a quickie in terms of cooking time. The only thing is to soak the Lentil for a good 2-3 hours. That's it. The rest of the process is pretty much easy. A sumptuous treat to the tastebuds, this Lentil and Meat combo is loved by many across the Country as well as in many neighbouring Asian Countries too.
A good source of Proteins and Carbohydrates, this one wins it hands down.

Steps
- 1
Soak Dal for about 3 hours. Boil with little Salt and set aside. It should be firm yet soft. Water quantity should be as minimal as possible. In a Pressure Cooker, heat Oil and saute Onions with Ginger garlic paste until light brownish in colour. Add Green Chillies and Mutton Bone-in now. Mix well and saute for 5 minutes. Add the rest of the ingredients and pressure cook on high for 8 whistles or as required.
- 2
To this cooked meat, add in the boiled Dal and give them all a good mix. Take care while mixing so that Dal doesn't break up. Simmer on a low heat for about 15 more minutes. The consistency is semi dry. Do not add more water.
- 3
Garnish with lots of freshly chopped Coriander Leaves. Serve piping hot with Rice and any side dish of your choice. Enjoy!
