Ingredients

  1. 250 gramokra or ladyfinger
  2. 2 tsp oil
  3. 1large size onion
  4. 2medium tomatoes
  5. 2green chillies
  6. 1/4 tspred chilli powder
  7. 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  8. To tastesalt
  9. 1/2 tsp dried mango powder

    First of all wash okra in running water and dry it completely. Cut it into long pieces or the shape you desired.

    Chop onion. Make a fine paste of tomatoes and green chillies.

    Heat oil in a pan, put onions and cook it for a while. Add tomato puree and stir occasionally.

    When the masala start realising oil add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, dried mango powder and salt and mix it well. Then add okra and give a nice stir.

    When all the okra will be coated with masala cover it with a lid and cook for 8 to 10 minutes on low flame.

    Our masala bhindi is ready. Adjust seasoning. Serve it with hot chapati and boondi raita or buttermilk.
