Imarti (Imarti Recipe)
This is a very juicy sweet.
Steps

First, rinse the urad dal thoroughly and soak it in water for 7 hours.

Drain and grind the urad dal into a very fine paste, adding a little water at a time. The paste should be very smooth.

Whisk the dal paste until it becomes light and fluffy. To check, drop a small amount in water; it should float to the top.

Add the cornstarch, baking powder, and food coloring to the paste. Mix well.

Heat ghee in a deep pan over medium heat.

Transfer the mixture to a piping bag. Pipe the batter into decorative ring shapes in the hot ghee.

Fry until golden, then immediately dip the imartis in sugar syrup for 2 minutes. Remove and serve hot.

Prepare the sugar syrup to a consistency just below one-thread stage.
