Ingredients

  • 250 gmgreen chillies
  • 1 tspSaunf/fennel seeds
  • 1/2 tspturmeric powder
  • 2 tspcoriander powder
  • 1 TspAmchur(dry mango) powder
  • 1/2 tspcumin seeds (jeera)
  • To tasteSalt
  • 2 tspLemon juice (optional)
  • As neededOil

Steps

  1. 1

    Slit open the chillies and keep it ready.

  2. 2

    Heat up oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and asafoetida.

  3. 3

    Add slit chillies and saute for 2 to 3 mins until the chillies are nice and soft.

  4. 4

    Add cumin seeds, turmeric, coriander powder, Amchur powder,salt as/ taste.

  5. 5

    Give a quick stir so that masalas well coated the chillies.

  6. 6

    Tips 1-You can add lemon juice to give more tanginess.

  7. 7

    Tip 2- add desi ghee to give a good smell.

  8. 8

    Masala mirchi can be stored in an air-tight container and refrigerate for 1 week.

  9. 9

    Masala mirchi can be served with pav bhaji, sides for the thali, vada pav, samosa, side dish for curd rice.
