An easy way to make kofta without an oven or grill, and it tastes amazing!
Steps
- 1
First, place the ground beef in a large bowl. Add the grated onions, parsley, salt, black pepper, spice mix, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix everything very well by hand.
- 2
Refrigerate the meat mixture for 30 minutes to rest. Then, shape the mixture by hand into your preferred shape—like I did, or make meatballs if you like. Next, place all the kofta pieces in a skillet, add the water and oil, cover the skillet, and cook over low heat until all the water is absorbed.
- 3
After that, brown the kofta in the remaining oil in the skillet until golden. Then turn off the heat. The water helps keep the kofta from falling apart in the skillet.
- 4
Heat the piece of charcoal over a flame until it turns red. Place a small piece of foil in the center of the skillet among the kofta, put the hot charcoal on the foil, and add a couple of drops of oil to create smoke. Cover the skillet and let the kofta absorb the smoky flavor for 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy—it's really delicious and easy!
