Ingredients

  • 2 cupsSpring onion (green onion or scallion) chopped
  • 1 bowlChenopodium
  • 3/4 grammaida/All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cupwheat flour
  • 1 tspRed chilli powder
  • 1 tspcoriander powder
  • 1/2 tspgaram masala
  • 2 tspsmall Green chilies chopped finely
  • 2 tspginger garlic paste
  • 3-4 tablespoonWater
  • as neededoil
  • pinchHing/asafoetida (optional)
  • 1 tspSesame seeds
  • 1 tspturmeric powder

Steps

  1. 1

    Take besan and wheate flour in bowl and mix in red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, salt and sesame seeds.

    Then add spring onions,cut chenopodium, chilies ginger Mix it well using your hand, rub with your fingers so flour and spices are coated to onions By adding a tablespoon of water at a time, make very thick batter.

    Heat the oil in pan or kadai on medium heat for frying.Once oil is hot, add spoonful of batter into the oil. I always use my hand while making pakora, but you can use two spoons as well.

  4. 4

    Fry few pakora at a time. Keep moving in between for even browning.Once get crispy and golden brown from all the sides remove it onto paper towel lined plate using slotted spoon.

  5. 5

    Serve hot or warm.
