Urad Dal KhichdiThis is a common dish in some parts of India

Steps

Mix dal & rice, wash it, soak in water for 1 hour.

Now strain it, keep aside.

Take a pressure cooker, add oil, heat it.

Add tejpatta & dry red chilli, sauté it for a sec.

Add hing & zeera, let it splutter.

Now add onion sliced, stir fry it till brown. Add veggies, fry it.

Add khichdi mix, stir fry it for a while. Add ginger garlic paste now.

Stir fry khichdi for a while.

Now add haldi & salt, stir fry it for a while.

Add garam masala powder, again stir it.

Now add water accordingly so as to keep the khichdi dry. Add sugar also.

Place the lid, give 4 -5 whistles.

Switch off the flame, take out in a serving dish.

Have it with desi ghee, dahi, achaar, chutney, salad or papad.
