Peel the petals of Vazhaipoo and remove the florets. In the florets, remove the stigma having bulb on top and remove the perianth having plastic like cover.

Cut it into small pieces and put it in a bowl of buttermilk.

In a kadai, add oil. Once oil gets heat, add mustard seeds. Fry it.

Add onions, curry leaves, dry red chillies and turmeric powder. Saute till onions becomes translucent.

Strain the florets and add it. Then add sambar powder and salt. Mix well.

Add required water. Cover and cook for 15 mins in medium flame till it gets cooked.

Atlast add grated coconut and mix well for a minute. Transfer to a bowl.

Now it's ready to serve as a Sidedish for your lunch.
