Steps
- 1
Sieve the flour and put it aside
- 2
Mix the sugar and butter until the sugar dissolves in it. It's better to use a cake mixer but if you don't have that you can just substitute something else
- 3
Add the eggs gently and stir to avoid curdling
- 4
Add the milk if you wish and stir
- 5
Add a pinch of salt if you are using unsalted butter, your nutmeg and most importantly the baking powder
- 6
Add the flour and stir, it's advisable to use a metal spoon for this
- 7
Add the flour in bits, you don't want to have a cake with bad texture
- 8
The paste should be light
- 9
Rub butter on your cake pan to avoid sticking and sprinkle some flour over the butter
- 10
Pour your mixture into the pan and bake for 30 minutes
- 11
To Know if your cake has been cooked perfectly, shove a table knife through the middle, if it comes out clean then your cake is perfectly cooked
- 12
Allow to cool and eat
