Steps
- 1
Mix the egg, milk/water, and bread. Mash the bread until soft. This acts as a binder.
- 2
Mix the binder into the ground beef. Season with a packet of grill seasoning enough for 2.2 lbs of meat (as indicated on the package). Alternatively, season with garlic powder, onion powder, seasoning powder, salt, and pepper. You can also add Western herbs like thyme, sage, or oregano if you like. Taste by cooking a small piece in a non-stick pan to see if the seasoning is right.
- 3
Divide into equal portions, from 4 oz to 6 oz, making 8 to 12 patties. Adjust based on how much meat you prefer.
- 4
Roll into balls and shape into circles or squares. Use your hands or a mold if you have one.
- 5
Freeze until firm before stacking, placing parchment paper between patties to prevent sticking.
- 6
To prepare: Grill directly from frozen at 350°F for about 30 minutes. The picture shows grilling on a BBQ at high heat for about 20 minutes with the lid closed. If you want cheese, add it in the last 2-3 minutes. Toast the buns to warm them. Serve with lettuce and tomatoes.
