Ingredients

  1. For The Modak Dough
  2. 2 cups rice flour
  3. Pinchsalt
  4. As neededWater
  5. For filling
  6. 1 coconut
  7. as requiredJaggery
  8. As neededDry fruits of choice
  9. as requiredPoppy seeds
  10. as requiredCardamom powder
  11. as requiredRed,yellow,red food colours

Steps

  1. 1

    Boil 2 cups of water with pinch of salt.

  2. 2

    When water boils switch off the gas add rice flour mix it fast and cover it a the keep for 5 to 7min.

  3. 3

    Knead very well when it's hot.

  4. 4

    For filling saute coconut in a spoonful of ghee. Add grated Jaggery, dry fruits, cardamom powder. Mix well.

  5. 5

    Take dough add red food colour and knead. And in 2 small portions add yellow and green colours.

  6. 6

    Make round of red dough and put filling in a the close it a the flatten. Now with the help of knife try to make shape of hibiscus flower.

  7. 7

    Use green colour for leaves. A the yellow for pollen grains in the flower.

  8. 8

    Steam them for 10 min

  9. 9

    Serve hot with ghee.
