This variety of modak is my own creation. That uses no milk powder or condensed milk. Can be prepared with very minimal or no sugar.

This variety of modak is my own creation. That uses no milk powder or condensed milk. Can be prepared with very minimal or no sugar.
Steps

Dry roast roasted gram dal and Grind it into a fine powder.

Grind sugar, cashews, almonds and cardamom into a fine powder.
Sieve them into a mixing bowl.
Add rose essence, petals, beetroot juice(for pink color)
Add 1 tbsp of ghee and form into a dough like consistency.
Make ball shapes and press it in the modak mould to get the shape.
Dress with some rose petals. - 3
Rose modaks ready to serve
