Ingredients

30 mins
approx 4 to 5 serving
  • 5 to 6 Potatoes medium to large (cut in small cubes)
  • 2-3 tbspOil
  • 1 tspRai
  • 1 tspKalonji
  • half tspMethi dana
  • 1 tspZeera
  • half tspAjwain
  • 6-7Karri patta
  • 1 tbspKuti laal mirch
  • 1 and half tspHaldi
  • Water as required
  • 3Green chillies
  • to tasteSalt
  • Imli pulp as required
  • 1 tbspGajar achar (optional)
  • Hara dhaniya for garnishing

Steps

  1. 1

    In a pot, heat oil and put rai, kalonji, zeera, ajwain, methi dana & karri patta.. saute for 2 secs... don't let it burn..

  2. 2

    Now add kuti laal mirch and haldi and fry for a sec. & add diced potatoes in it and mix.

  3. 3

    Now add water (approximately 1 and half to 2 cups so that potatoes will be covered and cooked in the same water) & salt..cook it on high flame until it starts boiling than cook it on medium low flame for 15 to 20 mins.

    When potatoes will be soft.. mash half of the potatoes in same pot. & add imli pulp & green chillies now.. water should not dry... it should be watery at this stage.. when you'll mash the potatoes and let it cook for another 5 mins the gravy will become thick automatically...

    Now add gajar ka achar in it and mix well and cook for another 2 to 3 mins and turn off the flame..

  6. 6

    Garnish it with hara dhaniya & enjoy with poori, paratha or kachoriyan...
