Ingredients

  1. 2 1/2 cupsall purpose flour or 318g
  2. 1 tbspbaking powder
  3. 1/2 tspsalt
  4. 1 cupunsalted butter or margarine softened at room temperature
  5. 3/4 cupgranulated sugar
  6. 4large eggs
  7. 4 tspvanilla essence
  8. 1 cupbutter milk(mix milk n lemon juice n let it rest for 5mins
  9. NOTE:You can add raisins or sultanas if you wish so

Cooking Instructions

    In bowl whisk butter n sugar until it turns colour and becomes fluffy

  2. 2

    Add your eggs one by one as you continue mixing.Then add vanilla essence

  3. 3

    Mix flour,salt n baking powder (dry ingredients)in a bowl.

    Start adding your dry ingredients as you alternate with buttermilk slowly by slowly until it is well incorporated

    Prepare your baking tin as you preheat your oven at 160⁰c for 20mins

    Pour your batter into your prepared baking tin.Sprinkle raisins on top(optional)

    Bake your batter at 160⁰c for 45 -50mins or until it's ready when you insert a fork or knife or skewer and it comes out clean.

    Enjoy with juice or tea.
