Wash and boil the potatoes, then peel them. Heat a little oil or refined oil in a pan. Add fennel seeds, asafoetida, whole coriander seeds, and chopped green chilies. Mix well. Add the mashed potatoes and green peas, then add salt, red chili powder, dried mango powder, and asafoetida. Mix everything together. Add cashews, raisins, and chopped cilantro, mix well, and transfer to a bowl to cool.

In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, turmeric, baking powder, carom seeds, and a little oil or refined oil. Knead into a dough. Divide into small balls and roll them out slightly.

Make small balls from the potato mixture. Place the potato filling in the rolled dough and seal them.

Heat oil or ghee in a pan for frying. Fry the prepared bati until golden brown.

Serve the hot masala bati with kadhi or dal.
