Tried to make full use of whatever was available during Lockdown.made this favourite raw banana peel chutney too which I had not made for a long time .which I had learnt from my son's nanny who had come to give me a helping hand when my son was born.

The banana peels should be washed and cleaned. Boil the peels with little salt till it is cooked in a covered pan...it takes about 45 minutes or so and for 15 minutes keep it covered after putting off the flame. Then take it out and cool it at room temperature.

After it cools, take the boiled peels (discard the stalk), coriander, green chillies, garlic, salt as per taste and water in a mixer grinder and grind it into fine paste (use the grinding stone if you have)

Now heat mustard oil in a pan add the Kalonji and when it splatters add the banana paste and cook it for another 5 minutes or so and let the paste dry a bit...put it in a bowl and drizzle with 1/2 tbsp of mustard oil on top of the chutney and serve with hot steamed rice. Enjoy ! Note: The chutney is usually mixed with hot steamed rice while having it like the way we mix dal and curries.
