By flipping the position of the spinach, it will cook evenly.

Steps

  1. 1

Wash the dirt off the stems of the spinach. Turn 3 of the spinach bunches the other way around, put together with the other 3 bunches, and wrap tightly in plastic wrap.

  2. 2

Microwave at 600 W for about 3 minutes. It will look like this when it''s done. The leaves and stems of all 6 bunches are cooked evenly!

  3. 3

Note: A bag has less spinach it in these days, compared to when I originally posted this recipe. So now I just microwave a bag for 2.5 minutes.

  4. 4

Put the spinach in cold water, plastic wrap and all. When it has cooled down, take the plastic off while the spinach is still in water. Turn 3 of the bunches the other way again so all the stems and leaves are together. Squeeze the spinach out tightly to remove any bitterness.

  5. 5

Use the cooked spinach in any way you like. I always cut it up and freeze it.
