Steps
- 1
Cut tomatoes into pieces and grind it into fine puree in a mixer jar.
- 2
For frying the paneer, take oil and butter in a pan and keep it on medium flame.
- 3
Cut green chillies into half and add to the pan, cut ginger into small pieces and add. Saute for about 30 seconds.
- 4
Add paneer cubes and shallow fry in both the sindes until they turn golden brown in color. Keep them aside.
- 5
In a pan (here I have taken metal pan to get the authentic taste) take oil and butter and keep it on medium flame.
- 6
Once the oil and butter heats up add cumin seeds.
- 7
Add finely chopped onions and saute until onions turn golden brown in color.
- 8
Once the onions turn into golden brown color, add finely chopped green chillies, ginger and garlic. Saute!
- 9
Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, kashmiri red chilli powder, coriander-cumin powder and salt as per taste. Saute until all the masalas are finely cooked and gives good fragrance.
- 10
As the masalas cook add water and let it heat for upto 2-4 minutes.
- 11
As the water comes to boil add earlier prepared tomato puree and let it cool for 3-4 minutes.
- 12
Add fresh green peas, mix well and cover it lid. Let it cool for about 8-10 minutes.
- 13
Cooking time may vary so check if your tomato puree is cooked properly. Add sauteed paneer and cook for 2 minutes
- 14
Do not cook for more time after adding paneer, your paneer will become chewy.
- 15
Serve hot with paratha or rice. Enjoy!!
