Chop beetroot, onion and slit green chillies

Heat a wok. Pour oil in a pan. pop mustard seeds and urad dall. Put onion green chillies and curry leaves.

Saute onion for a minute. Then add beetroot red chilli powder, salt and turmeric powder.

Mix well. Sprinkle water. cover and cook for ten minutes

Then remove the lid and add coconut. Stir well and turn off the flame

Beetroot poriyal is ready to serve.
