Ingredients

2 servings
  • 2 tablespoonolive oil
  • 1small shallot
  • 1small carrot, minced
  • 1small celery stalk, minced
  • 1garlic clove, minced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoonfreeze-dried oregano
  • 1/8 teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt, plus more to taste
  • 1/2 poundground beef
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons'Better than Boullion' Beef Base
  • 1 (14 oz)can crushed tomatoes
  • 1-2 ozred wine
  • 1 1/2 tablespoonmilk
  • 1/2 poundpasta, cooked al dente

Steps

    Heat the olive oil in a saucepan. When hot, add the shallots, celery, garlic, and carrot.

  2. 2

    Sauté over medium-low heat until they start to get some color.

  3. 3

    Add the oregano, red pepper flakes, and salt and cook for a minute.

  4. 4

    Add the beef and brown completely.

  5. 5

    Add the tomatoes, red wine, and beef base to the pan. Let the sauce simmer together for until most of the liquid has evaporated.

  6. 6

    Stir in the mlk just before serving.

  7. 7

    Add the pasta and mix.

  8. 8

    Serve with a good red wine and lots of parasean cheese.

Retired at age 55 and enjoying the mountains. I'm now 72, married for 50 years. :) I love to cook but I don't care if ingredients are Organic nor GMO, Gluten-free, low calorie, or low Cholesterol! And Never use low/no-Fat as I enjoy good food. I never take procedural pictures as most cooks know how to boil water and stir sauces.
