Ingredients

  2. 1/2 cupall-purpose flour (I used Blue Key)
  3. 2 tablespoonscornstarch
  4. 1 teaspoonground pepper
  5. 1 teaspoonfine salt
  6. 1 teaspoonmushroom seasoning
  7. 1/4 teaspoonbaking powder
  8. 1egg, lightly beaten
  9. 5-10 tablespoonswater
  10. as neededVegetable oil,
  11. Marinade
  12. 1 tablespoonsesame oil
  13. 1/2 teaspoonground pepper
  14. 1 teaspoonsoy sauce

Cooking Instructions

    Clean the chicken. Cut into small cubes. Add the marinade ingredients. Mix well or gently knead. Let it sit in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.

    Make the flour mix. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, cornstarch, ground pepper, salt, mushroom seasoning, and baking powder. Mix well.

    Take 2 tablespoons of the flour mix, add a little water, and stir until smooth. Beat the egg and add it to the flour mixture, mixing well. Heat plenty of vegetable oil, enough to submerge the chicken.

    Dip the marinated chicken into the liquid flour mixture. Then coat it with the dry flour mix, tossing with your hands and pinching it. Before frying, tap the chicken on the edge of the bowl to remove excess flour. Tip: Add the chicken to the dry flour just before frying; don't leave it in the flour mix, or it won't be crispy.
