Mummy Sausages for Halloween Bento

I made this for a Halloween-themed October bento. I looked at a lot of Halloween pictures and wanted to try to make something special.
Everyone wants a sausage in their bento, and these guys are pretty easy to make.
If the sausages are a little warm, the cheese will melt in nicely. The cheese breaks easily when taken right out of the fridge, so let it sit first for 2-3 minutes. Wrap a little over the eyes. There's no need to make them super neat (they're mummies, after all!). Recipe by Sasabon mama.

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Boil the sausages just until they're hot and cooked through. Then, set aside to cool.
- 2
Cut the cheese into 3-4 mm wide strips. For the eyes, cut the cheese into round circles, and use a craft punch to make the pupils out of nori. Stick the eyes on the sausage (in between the cheese slices).
- 3
While the sausages are still a little warm, affix the eyes and wrap with sliced cheese.
- 4
Here's a cute bento with a simmered pumpkin jack-o-lantern:
- 5
I tucked the mummies into hot dogs with ketchup and mayonnaise for extra flavor. My kids seemed quite happy biting into these.
- 6
Here's a pizza arrangement. It's easy when the cheese is wrapped around just half a sausage. On the sides of the pizza are ghosts made of hanpen (steamed fish purée).
- 7
Here they are at a Halloween party! All the kids were pretty pleased with them.

Since it's October, I wanted to make my son's bentos Halloween themed! I made an extra effort and prepared these.Make extra amounts of carrot slices simmered in consomme or glazed carrots. Wrap each slice in plastic wrap to use the next day in bentos - it's handy to have these on hand. You can freeze cooked kabocha squash too. Wrap each piece in plastic. You can use the frozen pieces as-is in bentos, so they can slowly thaw, just in time for lunch! 80 grams of rice is just enough for a 2 year old boy's bento box. Recipe by Mya-kom. cookpad.japan -

A Halloween themed character bento. Halloween is nearly over, but I made this especially and shared it here.If you use parchment paper to trace a house and use it as a pattern for the nori, you won't mess up. I mixed prawns into the rice. The veggie mix is under the shapes so it can't be seen. For 1 serving. Recipe by Yurimanma cookpad.japan -
