Asparagus Shio-koji Sautéed in Butter for Bentos

I thought of this while looking at another bento recipe, and the next morning, I tried it and it was delicious.
Sometimes the stem of the asparagus is tough; in that case, it's best to peel the outer skin.
Adjust the amount of shio-koji to taste. Recipe by Donpintan

Squid Daikon for Japanese-Style Bentos Squid Daikon for Japanese-Style Bentos
For my recent companion who likes Japanese flavors:* Squid Daikon* Burdock root (gobo), carrots, and green beans wrapped in chicken tenders and fried* Tamagoyaki (pan-fried rolled egg) with mentaiko (spiced roe) and green onion* Simmered arame-type kelp* Rice with black bean and mixed grains* Takuan (pickled daikon radish)Boil the daikon until it's soft.First bring the simmering sauce's flavoring ingredients to a strong boil before adding adding the squid.Don't overcook the squid; it gets hard. The broth will be squid scented.Add the water to the sauce, and then let the daikon absorb all the flavors as it simmers in the squid-scented sauce. The squid is added back in to simmer again at the end, so the squid and the daikon are both tender. Steak Style Seared Beef For Hanami Bentos Steak Style Seared Beef For Hanami Bentos
This is one of my favorite party menu items.Whenever seared beef (tataki) is served at restaurants it comes with ponzu sauce, but I made my own original slightly sweet soy sauce based sauce for this. The key is to watch the heat level! This is best when it's rare on the inside and nicely browned on the outside, so once you put the sauce in the pan just turn the meat in it once and take it out right away. Then, keep it in a zip bag with the sauce, and it will penetrate the meat! For 4 servings. Recipe by Tamae cookpad.japan -

Easy Microwave Kabocha Squash Kinpira for Bentos Easy Microwave Kabocha Squash Kinpira for Bentos
I love kabocha squash boiled in miso, and I had some kidney beans - so I thought of this recipe. It's easy to make but has a taste stronger than usual simmered dishes, so it's best suited for bentos. Try varying the basic recipe.Adjust the cooking time depending on your home microwave. Mixing it twice while you cook in the microwave will help keep the flavor from becoming inconsistent. Tastes delicious even if it falls apart. For 3 small cupcake liners. Recipe by Tamochan cookpad.japan
