Steps

Heat the little oil approximately 1/4 tsp in a pan on low medium flame. Add cumin seeds, black pepper, caraway seeds and cloves. Fry well till it becomes aromatic. Transfer it in a dish.

In a same pan add bay leaves and stone flowers. Fry well. Transfer into the dish and keep aside.

In a same pan heat the little oil. Add cinnamon sticks and black cardamom. Fry well. Transfer into the dish.

In a same pan again heat the little oil. Add coriander seeds and fry well. Transfer into the dish.

In a same pan add red chillies and fry well. Transfer into the dish. Finally add dry grated coconut roast well. Transfer into the dish.

Mix roasted spices together. Transfer into the blender jar and grind well.

Sieve the grounded masala. Again grind the coarse masala which is left in the sieve.

Finally kala masala is ready. Store it in a air tight container. You can make approximately 3 kg masala from these ingredients.
