At home, we enjoy it in two flavors: a spicy tom yum style or the original version.

Cut the tomatoes, potatoes, and onions into similar sizes so they cook evenly. Rinse the chicken with clean water.

Heat the pot and prepare the broth by adding the chicken bouillon cube, soy sauce, and oyster sauce. Wait for the broth to boil.

Add the tomatoes, potatoes, and onions to the broth. Once it boils, add the chicken (do not stir immediately after adding the chicken; wait for it to boil first, then stir).

Season to taste with sugar and salt or fish sauce (at home, we like it slightly sweet and mildly salty). You may notice some orange foam; feel free to skim it off.
- For the tom yum style, when serving, add chopped or crushed fresh chili, lime juice, and fish sauce for a different delicious taste.
