[Food Remedies] Simple & Healthy Tomato Sauce

This is part of a menu for a dietary regimen I use for my diabetic mother who is suffering from chronic strokes. The doctor said to admit her to hospital for treatment, but thanks to Yuriko Tojo's natural heath methods and food remedies, my mother is still living strong today. This is a recipe for diabetics and those who have to watch what goes into their blood.
I wanted to use 4 fresh tomatoes but we didn't have any in our fridge so I used canned ones instead. Recipe by Mikikimiki

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Combine the canned tomatoes, onion, and garlic in a pan, cover, and simmer for about 20 minutes until the onion becomes translucent.
- 2
Season the mixture with the basil, oregano, rock salt, and balck pepper.
- 3
Since there's no sugar or preservatives in this sauce, to preserve it, I poured it into an ice cube tray and stored it in the freezer. When making veggie burgers, let it thaw to the side of the pan.
- 4
The cubes look like this when frozen. Store them in tupperware in the freezer to use at any time. It's very convenient.

This is the original recipe: Homemade Pizza Sauce,.

I combined this sauce, which I had been storing, with some leftover stir-fried eggplants to make a simple tomato and eggplant pasta.

I thought of a simple tomato sauce that would work well with all kinds of cooking.*If you don't have a blender, you can use canned chopped tomatoes. *If you're using fresh tomatoes, chop them up and then heat them in the microwave (I cooked 3 tomatoes for 5 minutes). Please simmer them after blending. If you want to preserve the fresh taste of the tomatoes, then you don't have to add them to the blender. Recipe by Yuuyuu0221 cookpad.japan -
Tomato Sauce Tomato Sauce
This healthy, flavorful tomato sauce is a staple in many dishes and is really simple to make. Lots of herbs and seasonings make it so delicious that my family prefers this over anything store bought. You can use whatever onion you have on hand. Sometimes I like using a sweet onion, other times I mix in some red, so go with whatever’s available and what you like.As always, use recipes as a guideline and feel free adjust the spices to suit your preferences. For example, add more red pepper flakes to add some heat, or more sugar to make it sweeter. Kat -
Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce Basic Homemade Tomato Sauce
10 years ago, I heard Chef Ochiai (a celebrity chef in Japan) saying that if you roast whole vegetables, you can really bring out their umami and fragrance to make a rich sauce! And that you could store the sauce in the refrigerator! I've been making my own version at home and keeping it on hand since then. When sautéing the aromatic vegetables, brown them properly in order to make a rich tasting tomato sauce. Then, just simmer! Since the aromatic vegetables are removed, I could keep the sauce in containers sterilized with boiling water for more than a month in the refrigerator. You can use this sauce on pasta, on sautéed chicken, in egg dishes and all sorts of recipes. Recipe by kebeibiko cookpad.japan -

Homemade Tomato Sauce Homemade Tomato Sauce
This is a recipe I got from a cooking specialist that I really respect. I've made this countless times over the past 10+ years and added my own spin. It's a very special recipe.Above all else, it's very crucial to simmer the onions for 20 minutes. This is what brings out their sweetness. Since you'll be simmering over low heat, it won't stick to the pan. But be sure to mix from the bottom occasionally! I always make twice the amount and freeze leftovers. Recipe by Anchomai. Yields about 600 ml. cookpad.japan -

I learned this while I was abroad. This is an easy version that's light on the oil. It's a simple and delicious all-purpose sauce with no frills!Be sure not to burn the garlic when cooking it. You can make various versions by adding meat, vegetables, white sauce, sour cream, curry powder, etc. If you want to have a thicker sauce, you can add some katakuriko potato starch to adjust the thickness. Plain Tomato Sauce Plain Tomato Sauce
I asked my mother-in-law for her tomato sauce recipe only to find out that she doesn't really have one. I watched her make the sauce and saw that she doesn't use meauring cups or spoons. So I made notes as best I could, but it never tastes quite the same. My husband likes the sauce, so I guess it gets a pass! You can also make meat sauce by adding 0.5 kg cooked lean ground beef.ingridbagnariol

Delicious and Multi-Purpose Tomato Sauce Delicious and Multi-Purpose Tomato Sauce
I love Chef Mamoru Kataoka's recipe and read that he sweats onions slowly for 1 hour. Up until then I made tomato sauce without cooking the onion for that long, but I tried it and I was struck by the difference in the depth of flavor of the sauce. If you sauté the onion slowly until a lot of flavor seeps out, you can make a delicious sauce without having to add a soup stock cube.Stirring the pot slowly while you're surrounded by the fragrance of the onion is a nice experience.
