Dal Palak dish is a nutritious and wholesome recipe that is rich in proteins and minerals. It is a very simple yet delicious Indian dish. Dal palak dish made with lentils, spinach and seasoned with few spices. It origins in the northern part of India. It can be made with or without onion and garlic.

Stack all the spinach leaves, roll it and chopped it long. Add all the leaves to a boiling water and blanch them for a minute. Refresh in ice cold water immediately.

Wash all the dals with clean water and soak it in water for half an hour. In a pressure cooker add all the dals along with salt, turmeric and water. After 4-5 whistles turn off the flame and cool down at room temperature then open the lid.

Heat the ghee in a pan, add cumin seeds, hing, dried red chilli, garlic and onions.

Now add curry leaves, grated ginger and chopped green chillies. Saute on medium flame for 2-3 minutes.

Add tomato puree, mix it well and cook for 2-3 minutes.

Add the cooked dals and all masala. Give it a nice stir.

Add the blanched spinach, lemon juice and garam masala. Cook it for 2 minutes.

Garnish with fresh chopped coriander leaves.

Serve hot with rice, roti or paratha.
