Walnut Chutney

I made this chutney with walnuts, sesame seeds and tomatoes as base ingredients. Other ingredients are given below. The taste was both sweet and tangy and delicious. Goes well with dosa poori, paratha, steamed rice and can be a spread for breakfast.

I made this chutney with walnuts, sesame seeds and tomatoes as base ingredients. Other ingredients are given below. The taste was both sweet and tangy and delicious. Goes well with dosa poori, paratha, steamed rice and can be a spread for breakfast.
Steps

First,toast the walnuts and chop them to small chunks
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin and mustard seeds and let them crackle. Add curry leaves and saute.

Add both the dals, hing, garlic and green chilli and saute for 2 minutes.

Mix coconut powder,sesame seeds and chopped toasted walnuts. Saute on low flame till sesame splutter.

Add tomatoes along with turmeric, salt. Fry till tomatoes are soften.

Bring down and cool the stuff and take in a grinder jar. Add tamarind pulp, sugar and water and make a smooth chutney. I relished with steamed rice.
